Research Interests:
Dr. Maldonado's research interests include political economy, the sociology of communities and
inequality -- in particular, the dynamics of race, gender and class, environmental
sociology, and the sociology of technology. Her current research examines dynamics
within Latino/a populations in rural Iowa and Latino/a perspectives and experiences
regarding community integration.
