Research Interests:
I am researching the Native American contributions to corn agriculture, in particular the corn varieties first
cultivated by Missouri River Indians, to demonstrate the profound impact they had on corn agriculture on the
Northern Plains. I am also interested in issues of food sovereignty and how
Native communities are working to return to pre-colonial practices of subsistence.
