Research Interests:
My research focuses on social justice-related issues in both Latin American countries and the American Midwest. I
frequently use geographic information systems (GIS) as part of the methodological approach for my research
projects. I believe that spatial analysis can facilitate the communication of complex problems, allowing
stakeholders to better understand them. In addition, through my Extension appointment, I am involved in
projects related to Iowa and the bioeconomy.
